Byrness Woodland Management Plan

I am pleased to confirm the community event to plant the remaining trees provided by Great Northumberland Forest (GNF) will happen on Saturday 24 January from 11.30 - 1.00.
 
If you wish to take part please can you let me know at rochesterwithbyrnesspc@gmail.com In addition to wearing warm and appropriate clothing please have tough soled shoes / boots to protect your feet when using a spade. Ideally please bring along your own gloves and spades although Kirsten Johnson (Woodlands Officer, GNF) will bring a few supplies together with the trees, guards and a post knocker.
 
As a 'thank-you' for your hard work soup and hot drinks will be served in the Village Hall after 1.00 to those volunteering

An update on the progress of the planting of the trees by Forestry England on behalf Great Northumberland Forest in the area between Otterburn Green and the A68.

The majority of the trees are due to be planted within the next couple of weeks but there will be a number of trees that will be planted as part of a community event. As yet a definite date has not been set but it is proposed to be held between 11.30am – 1.00pm on one of the following Saturday’s.
